Guiding Principles

NGP Action’s activities are guided by the following principles:

  • The Palestinian people possess an inalienable right to self-determination.
  • The inhumane, immoral, and violent Israeli occupation of the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and Gaza is illegal under international law. As such, it must immediately and unconditionally end.
  • The Palestinian people must be treated equally, regardless of race, color, religion, or national origin. Accordingly, Israel must end all racist practices.
  • Palestinian refugees, defined by UNRWA as “persons whose normal place of residence was Palestine during the period 1 June 1946 to 15 May 1948, and who lost both home and means of livelihood as a result of the 1948 conflict,” and their descendants, possess an inalienable, individual, and collective right to return to their homelands, and just compensation, per UN Resolution 194.
  • Boycotts, including BDS activities, reside on “the highest rung of the hierarchy of First Amendment values,” as declared by the United States Supreme Court. Accordingly, anti-BDS legislation, bills, or resolutions that seek to disparately treat or condemn BDS supporters are unconstitutional and fly in the face of the values enshrined in the First Amendment. Further, pro-BDS activity does not equate to anti-Semitism.
